Artificial Intelligence
"By far the greatest danger of Artificial Intelligence is that people conclude too early that they understand it." Eliezer Yudkowsky
Artificial Intelligence is an attempt to mimic humans. To often we think of this "mimicking" as just a robot, but AI is also the ability to hide complexity. One of the most successful industries to hide complexity is the travel industry. Once upon a time it was very complicated to book travel. A travel agent took classes on how to book travel. When booking a flight between Kansas City and Chicago, an agent had to understand things like the airport code for Kansas City was MCI and for Chicago it was ORD.
The travel industry has become a series of algorithms that have been tucked away neatly. When a person books their own travel they don't think they are interacting or chatting with a robot. They just think wow this is easy because the complexity has been hidden from the traveler. People do not want to "chat" with a virtual travel agent. What they want is to go on a trip and not be frustrated when booking travel.
